India’s Exports Up 6.7% in August, Trade Deficit Narrows
New Delhi, September 15, 2025 – India’s exports rose 6.7% year-on-year to USD 35.1 billion in August 2025, while imports fell 10.1% to USD 61.6 billion, easing the trade deficit to USD 26.5 billion (from USD 35.6 billion a year ago). The sharp drop in gold imports (–56.7%) played a major role.

US: USD 6.86 bn (+7.15%) but hit a 9-month low due to new tariffs (50% total duty).
UAE: USD 3.24 bn
Netherlands: USD 1.83 bn
China: USD 1.21 bn
UK: USD 1.14 bn

China: USD 10.91 bn
Russia: USD 4.83 bn
UAE: USD 4.66 bn
US: USD 3.6 bn
Saudi Arabia: USD 2.5 bn
Combined Trade (Goods + Services):
Exports: USD 69.16 bn (vs USD 63.25 bn last year)
Imports: USD 79.04 bn (vs USD 84.99 bn)
Deficit: USD 9.88 bn
April–August 2025 (cumulative):
Exports: USD 349.35 bn (+6.18%)
Services exports: USD 165.22 bn
Services imports: USD 84.25 bn ? Surplus USD 80.97 bn (vs USD 68.25 bn last year)
