Pharmexcil Appoints Two Advisors to Support Pharma Exporters
To improve support for Indian pharmaceutical exporters, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has appointed two honorary advisors. They will guide member companies on key regulatory matters related to:
Foreign Trade Policy (FTP)
Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)
Goods and Services Tax (GST)
Customs procedures
his initiative, led by Pharmexcil Chairman Namit Joshi and Vice Chairman Bhavin Mehta, aims to streamline export processes and keep companies updated on changing trade rules. It also strengthens the council’s support system to help exporters deal with complex documentation, taxation, and customs challenges.
Appointed Advisors:
Mihir Shah – Advisor for FTP & DGFT matters
T. Chakrapani – Advisor for GST & Customs issues
Exporters can email their queries, and responses will be provided within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the complexity.
About the Advisors:
T. Chakrapani has over 35 years of experience in indirect taxation. He retired as a Superintendent from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and now runs a law firm specializing in GST and customs.
Mihir Shah is a consultant in Foreign Trade Policy, GST, FEMA, and related areas. He also trains businesses on international trade, government incentives, and compliance.
Pharmexcil’s Goal:
Director General K. Raja Bhanu said this move will help exporters get timely expert guidance, reduce delays, and improve compliance. Pharmexcil urges all member companies to use this support to stay updated and improve export efficiency.
Pharmexcil works under India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry to promote and regulate pharmaceutical exports.
