3. Export Procedure

Step 1: Register Your Business

Get an Importer Exporter Code (IEC) from DGFT

Register your business with APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority)

Identify demand in specific countries

Use B2B platforms like TradeIndia, Alibaba, or Indiamart or participate in trade fairs

Step 3: Ensure Quality Standards

Use GAP-certified farms (Good Agricultural Practices)

Comply with the destination country’s phytosanitary norms

Sort, grade, and pack as per buyer requirements

Step 4: Packaging & Labelling

Use ventilated, food-grade cartons with liners

Clearly label with:

Product name

Net weight

Country of origin

Exporter name & address

Batch/lot number

Step 5: Transportation & Cold Chain

Keep cucumbers at 10–12°C in cold storage

Use refrigerated containers to maintain freshness in transit

Step 6: Customs & Clearance

File shipping bill with Indian Customs via ICEGATE
