Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will meet export promotion councils on May 8 to discuss the newly finalized India-UK free trade agreement.
The deal removes taxes on key Indian exports like leather, footwear, and garments, while reducing duties on UK goods like whisky and cars. It also allows easier worker movement to the UK without changing their immigration rules.
The agreement aims to double India-UK trade to USD 120 billion by 2030. Senior ministry officials, EPCs, and FIEO members will attend the meeting.
