Govt to Boost Credit for MSME Exports
The government is introducing schemes to provide easier credit access for MSME exporters and help them tackle non-tariff trade barriers, a senior Commerce Ministry official said.
???? Key Initiatives
Easy Credit Access: New schemes to provide affordable credit to MSME exporters.
Alternative Financing: Strengthening factoring services for better financial support.
BharatTradeNet: A unified platform for trade documentation and financing.
???? Export Credit Gap
Export credit covers only 28.5% of total exports.
Current credit: $124.7B vs. Required: $284B (2023-24).
By 2030: Needed credit is $650B, as exports aim to reach $1 trillion.
???? Challenges for Indian Exports
Non-Tariff Barriers: EU's carbon tax, deforestation laws, and high tariffs limit market access.
Global Competition: U.S. & U.K.'s industrial policies favor domestic manufacturing.
Logistics Costs: India’s 8-9% of GDP, higher than developed nations' 5-6%.
???? The goal is to strengthen MSME exports, reduce trade barriers, and make India more competitive globally.
